With the impending release of their third album Philophobia, Amber Run have made me even more excited to hear what they have in store with their latest single ‘The Darkness Has A Voice‘. Bringing a very different vibe yet familiar compared to the previous release ‘Neon Circus,’ this new track is another perfect introduction into what Amber Run are offering for their next record.
Joe Keough’s poignant vocals, the gritty, melodic guitar riffs and impactful drums pull together in such a way that creates a brilliant commentary on the “internal conversations… we have with ourselves about ourselves,” and it is clear this is a prevalent theme through their recent songwriting.
Amber Run’s development from their debut EP to now, is obvious, and has been one of the most exciting developments I’ve seen in a band for a while. Going from the intricate tones of their earlier work to the powerful, loud sounds in ‘The Darkness Has A Voice’ is a true testament to the band’s progression over the last five years, and I cannot contain the anticipation I have for not only Philophobia but the next stage in this incredible band’s career.
Amber Run’s new album, Philophobia is due 27th September via Easy Life Records. Pre-Orders can be made here.
