‘My Mistake‘ is the first single to be released off the endearing singer-songwriter, Gabrielle Aplin’s impending third album which is set for release next year. After recently signing a global deal with AWAL, the deliverance of ‘My Mistake’ is the first through the new partnership between AWAL and Gabrielle’s own successful label – Never Fade Records.
The track is a beautifully written piano ballad that bares a raw display of soul-stirring sensations on coming to terms with one’s own flaws. ‘I’m really excited to release My Mistake. I’ve always found writing a therapeutic escape from the real world, but this song gently forced me to be brutally honest,” Aplin shares.
The soft yet emotionally charged vocals inflame an array of feelings within and as the chorus hits, the powerful chords of piano alongside the passionately pure lyrics of “I’m a loser and I self depreciate. So when I falter, well at least it was my mistake” provides a strong and sentimental message which is sure to resonate with her ardent fanbase.
Aplin came from humble beginnings as a teenage YouTube star and in 2012 she shot to fame with her exquisitely stunning rendition of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’. She’s since gone on to have many well-loved songs such as ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’, ‘Salvation’ and ‘Home,’ to name just a few, but if ‘My Mistake’ has set the precedent for her forthcoming album then I’m sure her already eminent career will only blossom all the more.
