Alternative-rock newcomer’s Calva Louise release latest single ‘I Heard A Cry,’ the second track to be lifted from the London based trio’s debut album (which is set to release early next year).
The single is the perfect equilibrium between pop and punk. The track holds a reminiscent sound of early ’90s punk pop while fun vocals and guitar riffs charge and melt together. Jess Allanic (lead vocals, guitar) brings energy to the song with her vibrant voice, enough that it will have you itching to sing along from the get go. The passionate chorus screams, “I heard a cry far away!” and this repeats throughout—the calling card of the track in many ways.
The band speaks on the song saying, “’I Heard A Cry’ deals with the misinformation we often feel regarding what’s happening elsewhere in the world. But at the same time, it’s about the will of many people who are trying to inform themselves.”
Calva Louise’s latest single is just a taste of what their anticipated debut album holds in store, for lovers of classic punk rock music.
‘I Heard A Cry’ is out now via Modern Sky Records – available to Stream/Purchase here.
