TRACK OF THE DAY: Eliza Shaddad – ‘Just Goes To Show’

The countdown is on. With a mere few weeks to go, Eliza Shaddad has brought out another single from her highly-anticipated upcoming album, Future (out 26th October via Beatnik Creative).

Newest single, ‘Just Goes To Show‘ recounts the sudden panic and desperation that materialises when you’re on the cusp of being broken up with and how a person reacts to the impact. However, differing from other tragic love songs of similar calibre, Shaddad uses her soundscapes and storytelling devices very cleverly: with an initial nineties-esque, happy demure via catchy, buoyant tunes that don’t immediately make you want to weep into your pillow, yet if you listen closely, lurking below the surface are these deeper, darker lyrics – that cut. Deep.

Shaddad manages, once again, to perfectly capture and reflect those gut-wrenching emotions within her beautiful gift for song writing – that either leaves you reliving memories of your own breakup, or experiencing this heartbreak despite never actually having gone through it yourself.

‘Just Goes To Show’ definitely has upped the anticipation for the new album and the end of October couldn’t come faster.

Eliza Shaddad’s debut album ‘Future’ is set for release on 26th October 2018. The record is available for pre-order now, via this link.
