WATCH: Saltwater Sun – ‘Hot Mess’

Following on from their impactful return to the music scene with ‘The Wire,’ Saltwater Sun have done it again with latest single ‘Hot Mess.’

This band encapsulates everything an indie band should be: playful guitar melodies and effortless vocals merging with the subtle yet finessed drum sounds and bass lines to create an outstanding anthem. Talking about never taking yourself seriously, ‘Hot Mess’ reaffirms Saltwater Sun’s standing in the indie landscape, and the visuals are an added bonus to the glittering new track.

Directed and edited by Laurie Barraclough, the visuals for ‘Hot Mess’ bring a certain edge to the song. Using a variety of different angles, some out of focus and some obscure, Barraclough has epitomised the feelings and angst you hear throughout the track.

We’re thoroughly impressed with what Saltwater Sun has to offer, and after a fantastic couple of EPs in ‘Flawed’ and ‘Wild’ we’re excited to see what’s to come.

Hot Mess’ by Saltwater Sun is out now via Hand In Hive – available to stream or purchase here.
