TRACK OF THE DAY: Loa Loa – ‘Give Me What I Want’

Brighton rowdy bunch Loa Loa are gearing up for what is expected to be a monumental tear up around the country, kicking off in Newcastle on Thursday the three-piece are planning to air new cuts, alongside a set of familiar rumbles. Central to the set might just be their latest single, ‘Give Me What I Want’ – a turbo impact of ragged vocal, unflinching drums and zealous guitar.

It’s all fantastically raging and unanimously engaging, from start to finish. Loa Loa don’t mess around in serving fluff pieces, they equip their songs with unswerving potency and lyrical detail allowing for more than just a passive listen but a visceral relationship. We can’t speak for others but Loa Loa certainly seem to do their damned hardest to satisfy the creative balance, and we love the music even more for it.

Speaking of the track, the band explain: “We originally recorded this track around a year ago but ended up re-recording it after we cut our ties with an external dead weight. That whole negative experience though resulted in us going fully DIY and making a record at Rockfield Studios in Wales, which we hope will see the light of day this year.

“This track however is just a stand alone single about having to put up with someone who loves a drama and a verbal confrontation.”

The new single ‘Give Me What I Want’ is out now via Killing Mood Records – purchase on iTunes here.
