Music often has the ability to transcend into a force greater than itself, in the case of London group ISLAND we find their dreamy snapshots of young life to be certainly profound, if not remarkably invigorating. The final taster to be revealed from their upcoming ‘A Place You Like’ EP remains pensive and subtle, without ever pulling its finger off the trigger.
Positioned front and centre, the listener faces the brunt of ISLAND’s firing squad, sharp and pulverising blows singe and bat out a war path, ricocheting languidity of reverberating riffs, a hastening rhythm, marching drums and Rollo Doherty’s tangible attraction. They know how to make an impact.
To celebrate the new release, the band will be hopping on tour with sentiment-rousers Amber Run, which will set them in good stead for their biggest headline show to-date at London’s Heaven on 3rd May. The future does look promising, and for tune-makers like ISLAND they’ll certainly give it all they’ve got.
ISLAND will be touring the UK with Amber Run this February for tickets head here and pre-order their latest EP ‘A Place You Like’ on iTunes here.
