Brighton-based House Points are here to brighten up those summer days with their beachy good vibes and infectious melodies. Think a peppier Parquet Courts twinned with the fizzy surf pop of Wavves and you’ll be close. New single ‘I Don’t Like You’ breezes with carefree animosity, all the while animated guitars cartwheel around each sour-faced thought.
Their style of bouncy indie pop provides nothing new to our ears but after one listen, you won’t be able to deny that you aren’t humming that melody line in your head. And that’s more importantly why this kind of music will always stand the test of time and continue to reign strong in our hearts (and our summer playlists).
From the irresistible vocals to the delirious non-stop hooks, delivered with all the energy that would even make the energiser bunny feel tired. ‘I Don’t Like You’ is a song for those days when you feel down, a song for those days when you want to dance but mostly, it’s a song that underlines the prime reason why we will always go back to indie music – because it’s comforting.
‘I Don’t Like You’ is available to stream on all digital services now.
