LISTEN: Slow Riot – ‘Trophy Wife’

Limerick post-punk offensive Slow Riot are back, with a new sonic explosion, the equally biting and brooding ‘Trophy Wife’.

Feeling slightly more spirited than usual, the trio enthuse danceable new wave rhythms with a deeper sense of groove rooted in the realms of indie, amongst the effected vocals of singer, Niall and the effervescent gloom that we’ve come to associate with the band. The track see’s the band approach the subject of morality and misguided relationships, it is within the unapologetically frank opening statement, “nice to meet you in the morning when you greet me with a fist”, where significant weight is bared.

‘Trophy Wife’ was recorded with Kevin Vanbergen (The Pixies, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Biffy Clyro) at Brighton’s Park Studios at the end of 2015.

‘Trophy Wife’ will be released on 15th April, via Straight Lines Are Fine. Pre-order a copy of 7″ vinyl here.
