TRACK OF THE DAY: Eliza Shaddad – ‘Run’

Creativity runs in Shaddad’s blood. Descending from a long line of artists and poets, dating as far back as the 1800’s, it’s not hard to fathom why Shaddad herself, is a remarkable songwriter and artist. Her latest ‘Run’, the title track from her new EP, is a sweeping but immensely intimate warning note to a lover.

Shaddad’s emotionally pervasive storytelling wraps and coils through each and every unyielding word confessed. It is a powerful and potent expression of fragile human emotion, Shaddad offering an easy way out of a relationship, so that the other party doesn’t get hurt. While we all at times, shy away from our true feelings or hide what we really think, for the fear of rejection or our own embarrassment. On ‘Run’, Shaddad willingly admits to her self-destructive behaviour in relationships, making for a brave and bold catharsis to reign over the track.

But what Shaddad really revels in, is feeling. Her music evokes a strong connection with its listener, provoking a unique bond to link both together, through her powerful sentiments.

Eliza’s forthcoming ‘Run’ EP will be released on 18th March, via Beatnik Creative.
