Song of the Week

SONG OF THE WEEK: King Charles – ‘Gamble For A Rose’

After years of waiting for new music from the illustrious King Charles, the wait is finally over. The delightfully flamboyant folk singer announced that his sophomore album will be released in the new year, and is titled ‘Gamble For A Rose’, the first single to be taken from the LP is the title track.

The success of debut album ‘Loveblood’ took the singer to great heights, but soon he started to feel burdened by the music which he was creating, and a yearning to work his way back to the root of his musical flame occupied his thoughts. Spurred on by close friend Marcus Mumford, he and Charles set out to make a record together, that was true to his character and his artistic vision. This called on a subtle change to form but has resulted in something much greater and sincere – ‘Gamble For A Rose’ is the dawning of a mature, eloquent, assured songwriter, that has everything to play for.

The video (which you will find below) captures the wondrous, magical feeling of first loves – from the first spark of attraction to the innocent side glances between each other. ‘Gamble For A Rose’ is wonderfully pure piece of honest expression, bathed in melody and romantic notions that will carry you away to a better place.

‘Gamble For A Rose’ is available to pre-order now, and will be released on 22nd January 2016. More info can be found here.
