The second release from Sydney’s Why We Run is accomplished, showcasing the bands ability to craft beautifully nuanced melodies and calming euphoric moments. ‘Ignites’ gallops with immediacy as a rolling drum beat draws you in and then releases you in a dreamlike wonder.
The song talks of escape “I dreamed of a land with no sound”. Like a freeing release of the mind, ‘Ignites’ tells a tale of wistful longing for another place. Its a beautiful syncronicity that the band weave so well between their sonic landscapes and lyrical themes, its music in the form of art. They paint their parts so delicately and intricately that it’s impossible not to be swept up by their immaculate talents.
