Protocol was previously ‘Song of the Week’ here at Bitter Sweet Symphonies, it’s a track we love and hold as one of 2013’s greatest breakout tracks from a new artist, so hearing that there was a remix of this song I was sceptical to say the least.
For someone that isn’t particularly well versed in remixes or dance music, this remix of Leon Else’s song, Protocol, from New York based The Jane Doze is surprisingly and refreshingly good. They have taken a track that is moody and layered with emotion, and have given it the light that it was craving for. It’s a fun, breezy version of the track, which you can easily picture being a big hit in clubs all over the world and did I mention it’s up for free download too? So, get it while you can. The Jane Doze have managed to retain the original essence of the track without stripping too much away, which is always a good sign of a good remix, they’ve definitely brought out the best that the track has to offer plus much more. You can’t help but get caught up in the track and lose yourself to the beat. Nice work guys.
DJ/production duo Jen Mozenter and Claire Schlissel are The Jane Doze, former music biz employees by day and kickass electronic dance music DJs by night. They’ve shared stages with Calvin Harris and Diplo, playing from New York City to the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Have a listen to their colourful remix of Protocol below.
