London based Strangers are the band of the moment and are hotly-tipped in my list for the Sound of 2013. Their blend of dark, delicious synth-ridden electronica is just what we need right now: intensely, catchy lyrics and expertly produced melodies is what makes them so successful, in my mind, that’s the perfect combination.
It’s been a good week for this three piece, after their new single, Something New got it’s very first play on Radio 1. Not only that but they have just finished a mini-tour with Manchester’s very own The Kill Van Kulls, making it a very celebratory time for Strangers. This is just the start, I can feel it.
They are not just another band, they bring something extra special to the table, not only does their music give heaps of atmospheric, slow-burning intensity, but it also sticks with you, it has meaning. Plus, if that’s not enough for you, its music that will get you dancing. What more could you ask for.
Again, I’d say it’s best to go see them live and see for yourself how good they are. They are playing a show on 8th April at the Borderline in London, tickets priced at £7. Be sure to go check them out.
