‘Sun Skin Air’ is latest single from the fast-rising London collective SUN SILVA. It is the follow up to last year’s debut single ‘Blue Light,’ which was received with great praise across the board and picked up by the likes of Radio 1 and BBC Introducing
For the most part, the track zips along as driving drums and bass guitar dominate the verses, while guitars and vocal harmonies add colour to the choruses; there is a dynamic change-up halfway through before it builds back up to an almost disco-style fade out.
There are touches of woozy psychedelia that come through in the spacey vocals and phased guitars but the track moves along at a pace that means there is little time to ponder, just listen.
“Gimme sun, gimme skin, gimme air” is the lyric that confirms that this song was made for the sunnier weather that is fast approaching, maybe accompanied by iced drinks and sunglasses in your local park as the days get longer.
SUN SILVA are playing festivals including Live At Leeds and Hit The North this year, as well as London’s OMEARA with Luna Bay on 11th March.
