Following his recent single Medicine, Northern Irish singer-songwriter JC Stewart has once again created a heartwarming and emotional song based on a friend’s personal experience in ‘Like I Did.’ Relaying the experience almost word for word in the lyrics; JC Stewart’s pure vocals, soft gospel-like harmonies, and entrancing guitar melodies fused together to create a stunning track.
JC Stewart has come a long way since releasing his first single Parachute, in 2016, and ‘Like I Did’ showcases the maturity and development in both his songwriting ability and passion in his words.
Explaining how ‘Like I Did’ came to be, JC Stewart says: “I wrote ‘Like I Did’ about a situation one of my friends was in where he had just found out some news that nobody wanted to hear. He was angry and frustrated, and we wrote this song about the situation. It’s a really special song to me because the lyrics aren’t trying to be fancy, it’s simply what he said to me put into song form. I’m incredibly excited to have it out into the world!”
