It was earlier this summer that alternative indie duo Seafret made their very welcome return, after a two year hiatus, with the exciting release of their upcoming EP’s taster track, Can’t Look Away. The Bridlington duo, consisting of Jack Sedman and Harry Draper, now share with us a second single and EP title track, ‘Monsters.’
‘Monsters’ begins with a mysteriously grasping beat of the guitar that has you instantly intrigued. The atmospheric melody then proceeds to carry on, during which time the hauntingly gentle hum of Sedman’s softly caress starts to materialise as an introduction of a more vigorous sounding guitar then takes place. The track steps it up a gear to deliver another dimension before the exciting and beatific hit of the chorus commences. The deliverance of the vocals and subtle yet powerful beats throughout the chorus brings along many toe-tapping vibes, alongside beautifully engaging and often relatable lyrics – the track is quite easily one that you could listen to on repeat and begin to appreciate all the more.
The rest of the year is looking bright for the talented twosome with the release of their EP set for September the 7th and a bunch of shows scheduled across Europe and the UK. Seafret have made their long awaited return in style. Watch this space.
