Off the Record is back in Manchester on Friday 10th of November after its sell-out debut in 2016. The multi venue live music conference brings with it a host of industry experts from; Agents, Label and publishing A&R, Tech start ups, Bloggers, and Promoters to inform and inspire independent musicians of all instruments, genres and abilities.
The all-day conference provides a platform and practical advice for the unsigned and DIY musician, followed by a night of live music from 30 of the finest emerging artists. Backed by UK industry heavyweights such as festival organisers (from Kendal Calling and Sound City) radio DJs (from Radio 1 and BBC 6Music) and music site Louder than War, Off the Record is an event of a higher calibre.
The conference begins at 10am at the Methodist Central Hall with panels including; Love for Grime, All You Need to Know About Labels, The Art of Selling Yourself and How to Break a Band in 10 Weeks. Off The Record provides an exciting opportunity for emerging artists to gain a wealth of knowledge from industry experts and established bands such as Cabbage and False Heads.
Attendees are then invited to network and plan their gig itinerary at the Ticketline Delegate Party, hosted by Night & Day at 4.30pm.
Live music kicks off at 6pm with gigs running from a few of Manchester’s favourite venues; Jimmy’s, Aatma, The Peer Hat, Soup Kitchen, Gullivers, Night & Day and The Castle Hotel. The performance line up is only announced 24 hours in advance but with curators like Brix Smith Start (The Fall), Phil Taggart (Radio 1) and Mike Walsh (Radio X), you can feel confident that you’re in safe hands.
