South London singer/songwriter Miles Horn releases new single ‘The Birds and You’ on 6th June, coinciding with his upcoming live shows in the capital.
Recorded at Musicland studios, ‘The Birds and You’, is sung by a voice that sounds like the owner has lived a little. A piano and hushed bird noises permeate the soothing track gliding underneath Horn’s measured yet emotive vocals.
With echoes of self-professed influences Matt Maltese and Issac Gracie, the musician’s melodies have an undeniable appeal. A companion for the early hour insomniac and victims of unrequited love, the introspective track is submerged in a sense of longing, Horn dejects “I can’t get to sleep tonight as the black old night turns blue,” he continues: “Please don’t pull me back under and give me something that’s not real”. It all feels very personal.
Scheduled to perform a full band set upstairs at Notting Hill Arts Club on June 16th, Horn’s audience can expect heartfelt, poignant vocals teamed with evocative lyrics.
Miles Horn’s sophomore release ‘The Birds and You’ is out now.
