‘Losing Your Love’ is the recently released single from Liverpudlian five piece Paris Youth Foundation. Encapsulating essences of Two Door Cinema Club and Foals, not only do PYF have Reading and Leeds festival performances and multiple Radio 1 plays under their belts, they have recently been signed to the same management as Wolf Alice.
‘Losing Your Love’ has powerful riffs and a dreamy chorus in which, frontman Kevin Potter’s vocals are really showcased. Upbeat but not in typical indie-pop fashion, the song is fast-paced with a juxtaposing haziness to it, recalling the likes of The Temper Trap. Alternatively, b-side ‘If You Wanna’ expresses their unique, dynamic sound with its relaxed beats and catchy lyrics, this is one that will stick with you long after listening. It’s enticing but not as atmospheric as its lead, yet still a nice contrast.
Sonically, Paris Youth Foundation are loud and strong yet unpolished in a way that isn’t gritty, therefore it wouldn’t be surprising if PYF become radio favourites in the near future.
