TRACK OF THE DAY: EAT FAST – ‘Fenham Dreadlock’

When the time comes to announce yourself to the world, you have one of two options – One, a quiet solitary ‘Here I am’ or Two, a rearing of the head that makes all other heads turn with it. EAT FAST opted for the latter. These newcomers have ravished and accumulated all in their path in the short time that they’ve been with us, implementing their brain-probing scuzz-pop into popular favour. The final decree from EAT FAST’s debut EP is the whip-smart ‘Fenham Dreadlock’.

These speed demons mess with the senses – audible is their crusade of guitar-soaked fuzz but what lies beneath its essence is the band’s whole-hearted ambition – violently feral and wholly real. It won’t be long till the mystery is broken and their faces are revealed, but who needs illusion when the music speaks for itself?

EAT FAST will be making their live debut this week at London’s cherished Old Blue Last and with a further two appearances scheduled for Brighton’s Alternative Escape (see below for details), it’s true that the noise merchants will be lifting the veil for the first time, and for those lucky enough to catch the first glimpse, it will be a historic day.

EAT FAST’s debut EP ‘Fenham Dread(Lock)’ is available now.
