Vinyl Perspective: Slow Riot on Record Store Day 2016

Held every third Saturday in April is Record Store Day (taking place on Saturday 16th April this year). Physical formats are very important to us, and with RSD approaching, we wanted to properly celebrate the all mighty vinyl record. So in the lead up, we decided to catch up with a few of our favourite bands to discuss their cherished memories with the medium and the RSD release that they’re most excited about. Today’s band in focus is Slow Riot.

Written by Aaron, guitarist in Slow Riot.

Nostalgia:- The first vinyl record I ever played was from my Dad’s record collection. I remember being absolutely bemused by the concept of a record player (the CD generation) and he had to show me how to put it on. It was Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads, there was no going back after that.

Record Store Day:- There’s a few gems this year I’d like to grab hold of, Field Music, DNA, Death and The Go Team. Roll on RSD!
