TRACK OF THE DAY: The DuBarrys – ‘Catch The Rider’

Brighton’s retro-leaning indie band The DuBarrys are back with their first new material since 2014. The band having regrouped and gained a new member, have come back stronger and more refined than ever before. Returning with new single, ‘Catch The Rider’, they are staking their claim on the emotive, ear-worm friendly title that’s been reserved for such likes of Local Natives and Half Moon Run.

Languid skips of guitar open the track to a playful start, before meeting the anxious mindset of the singer, “What am I gonna do today if you don’t start to call?” The soaring sonics act as a warm bed for this bright, defiant tale of self-belief to achieve its full potential, wrapped around brave sentiments that are delivered with vulnerability and poise. It has just the right combination of organic melodies, rich vocals and timeless lyrical hooks, making ‘Catch the Rider’ a must-listen for the summer months to come.
