Today’s newest burst of awesomeness comes from Kent band Dreamweaver, and the first single to be taken from their debut EP ‘Listless Fruition’. Recorded with Get Inuit‘s James Simpson, the collaboration brings together a collective love for lo-fi, psych-pop.
One thing you have to remember, for a Kent band, at any given moment you’re never going to be too far away from the seaside. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why so many musicians in the South-East have been drawn to the dream-like qualities of psychedelia and its escapist mantra. Dreamweaver, especially.
On ‘Birched’ the free-spirited foursome have crafted a highly intoxicating blend of woozy, synthesized rhythms. Every element being distinctive in its own way, from the intense drawling vocal to the droning, starry-eyed synth melody that leads the track. On top of its spiralling guitars, dancing bass lines and head-bopping percussion, ‘Birched’ is simply beautiful. All that is left to do now is to play press, and sink back slowly into the grooves.
Dreamweaver’s debut EP ‘Listless Fruition’ will be released on 12th February, via Sexx Tapes. The EP is available on limited edition cassette, or alternatively on digital download here.
