Emilie & Odgen is the chosen stage name of Montreal based harpist Emilie Kahn. Her music reflects upon her own inner dialogue, capturing the honesty and intimacy of life.
Her new single ‘Ten Thousand’, taken from the titular LP, is a wandering love song that prides itself on its own capacity to be human – flaws and all. Emilie embraces her imperfections wholly and without hesitation, lamenting “that’s ten thousand talents that I’ll never be…”
The accompanying video is just as bittersweet. Following a young couple on a romantic woodland break, but as sudden as our adoration grows for them, tragedy strikes. The video also acts as a mirage, offering up an intrinsic truth – that sometimes we take for granted what we have, as soon as we have it, it can be gone just as quickly.
