Brighton duo IYES, since forming in 2012, have continued to astound the ears of pretty much every music blogger and journalist that have taken that one fateful listen to them. And their new offering ‘Simmer’ isn’t one to disrupt the enthralling power that they have over a listener, rather it’s more likely to swoop up a contented listener into a loved-up daze.
Set to a simplistic guitar melody that with its pace, allows us to focus fully and satisfyingly on singer, Melis Soyaslanová’s stunning voice, teetering between a sincere vulnerability and elegant poise. Her voice can only stun and bewilder a listener. IYES are playing Hoxton Bar and Kitchen in London on 12th February 2015.
