If you like Circa Waves, Foals and The Maccabees then you’ll definitely love Run Tiger Run. Hailing from the fine city of Liverpool, they are casually sweeping up attention from all the right people. Already being backed by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Merseyside, they’ve supported some of the best bands around, such as JAWS and Catfish and the Bottlemen and just this week it has been revealed that they have been shortlisted as one of the bands for Glastonbury festival’s emerging talent list, so it’s looking good.
They have all the potential to become a huge name in the industry and with a sound that shows maturity and sophistication beyond their years, they are in good stead. Run Tiger Run’s distinctive sound of anthemic, summery indie pop is much heavier than what Hummingbird leads you to believe, take Summer Sun for example, with it’s grittier rock essence, intense vocal and deeper lyrical content, it’s just another reason to love this band even more. Hummingbird‘s strength is in it’s gradual build in pace, from it’s humble beginnings to the giant crescendos of it’s fiery, zesty guitars, passionate vocals and solid lyricism. This track is surely going to take them far.
