SONG OF THE WEEK: Johanna Glaza – ‘Shall I Be A Saint’

London based singer/songwriter Johanna Glaza describes her music as baroque folk. Her music is beyond words, it’s an immersive experience, she has a voice that can only be compared to that of Kate Bush, that exudes kaleidoscopic depth, there are many layers to this artist which we are introduced to on her début EP.

Shall I Be A Saint, is taken from her début EP, Silence is Kind, which I also highly recommend, it’s stunning. She has a voice that is so sweet and tender, so pure, but teetering with emotion. Her music is like a music box, full of meaning, a window into another world, a dream world.

Her songs have a fragility to them, especially this song, it feels like its own fairytale. The song itself, is very dreamy, an innocent and delicate track that swells and rings out with sweet stirring piano notes, glacial tones and calming, siren like vocals from Glaza. A song that would make even Sigur Rós swoon with delight. Shall I Be A Saint is a beautiful lead single off her début EP, I can’t wait to hear more from Johanna Glaza.
