Song of the Week

SONG OF THE WEEK: Rey Pila – ‘Alexander’

Mexican band, Rey Pila have just recently released their new single, Alexander, via New York’s Cult Records. Along with b-side, Lady in Red, for those of you out there that may be familiar with this song, will know it’s a cover of Chris De Burgh’s classic, and it’s a beauty.

Alexander is an alternative music lovers dream come true, filled to the brim with delicious, swirly synths, electronic piano sounds and guitar heavy rock. The songs growing pace and rhythm makes you want to move, very Bruce Springsteen esque in many ways. With a vocal that would even make Gabriel Bruce swoon. It’s a song that will have you hitting the repeat button over and over again, it’s that’s good. Rey Pila are a band to be on the look out for.

It was just announced yesterday that the band will be opening for Albert Hammond Jr. on select dates of his UK/European tour, for the full list of dates that Rey Pila are playing see below.

December 2 – Paris, FR Maroquinerie
