Hype of the Day

HYPE OF THE DAY: Glitches

Whitechapel three-piece Glitches are steadily making a name for themselves. They make gloriously catchy, indie electronic pop, of what the band label themselves as ‘organic imperial grooves’. I’d park them right next to other great bands like Delphic, Everything Everything and Cave Painting. Glitches are a very exciting band indeed.

After previous well loved singles, Warm Seas and Only Time Will Tell, comes Glitches newest single, RGB, out 2nd December 2013 which is a sprawling masterpiece. The song is a melodious, dark melting pot of subtle electronics, all-consuming harmonies and a vocal that cuts deep, it’s warbles and coos pull at the old heart strings. The message of the song of what I gleam from it, being that even though love and relationships are difficult and can take their toll on you, it makes you see the world in a brighter light and it’s part of the beauty of love, that you deal with the bad times to get to the good times. It’s orchestral musings, driving drum beats, soaring riffs and a divine bass solo in it’s closing makes RGB a song that will have you hitting the repeat button continuously, a great track that is screaming out for radio play.

Glitches are also currently collaborating  with the artist notebook brand, Moleskine. Glitches will be unveiling the video tonight, along with a live performance, at the launch party event at London’s Electrowerkz, as part of their collaboration together with their recent video for their song, Only Time Will Tell, to watch the video click here, the video looks at the creative process from conception to the final product, basically from the initial songwriting basis to the fully produced song.
