SONG OF THE WEEK: All The Young – ‘Fingerprints & DNA’

All the Young’s brand new song Fingerprints & DNA, just unveiled last night is another belter. This is the first of the new material to be officially revealed to the world after the release of their début album, Welcome Home, last year, so as you’d expect it’s been long awaited for all of us fans of ATY and this song certainly doesn’t disappoint.

The video has already received over 1000 views in the space of 20 hours of being in the public domain, with a little help from fans sharing virally and word of mouth, it’s pretty good going. The song itself, is signature All the Young packed to the brim with a huge sing-a-long chorus that’s a statement in itself, “it’s a sit up and listen, we are back and you’re not going to forget it” moment, big pounding drums, sailing guitars and a lead vocal that won’t give up accentuated with punchy backing vocals, this is something really special. A welcome home in many ways, the recording of their upcoming release has all been much closer to home for these Stoke lads, deciding to invest in local talent and record the tracks in Stoke. Stoke is always at the heart of what they do and the music they produce, making it the perfect fit for their second release.

The energy of this song is perfectly woven to be a stand out track at a gig, one that will get the crowd moving and hyped up. I can always attest to the fact that All the Young are a solid live band, they do know how to put on a good live show and they really do make me proud of our music scene here in the UK, they are a testament to hard work and dedication and they make good music, what more could you ask for?

They’ve come back stronger and better than ever and they are shouting it from the rooftops, this song is full of fight and passion, which makes me excited to hear more, the as yet untitled second album from All the Young is set to drop sometime next year, so be on the look out for that. But in the meantime, turn this up and have a little dance.
