If you like Wolf Alice, then you’ll love Sisters. They are a three piece originally from Limerick in Ireland, but are now based in London, consisting of Andrew, Aoife and Nile (sorry their surnames remain a mystery still). They make fun, fuzzy, grunge pop. What they like to label as ‘dream grunge’. Also, in the mix is a good dose of New York styled indie rock n roll a la Drowners, making for an effortlessly cool sound.
They will immediate;y draw you in and have you enthralled from the first riff. The subtleties and atmospherics of their music makes them so triumphant in my mind. Sisters are riding on the new wave 90’s indie grunge scene that’s currently booming in the UK right now and they are so good at it. They are sure to be the band on everyone’s lips this time next year, with the three songs that are online at the minute from Sisters it’s just a matter of time before they hit the mainstream.
They have a spark in them that burns so bright, and that’s clear to see and hear in their music. The dark undertones of their music is so delicately woven and layered within the lyricism of the songs and the melodies, that it will drag you straight in, it’s emotive and it’s enthralling. I can’t recommend this band any more, they are definitely ones to watch.
