Introducing

INTRODUCING: The Glavins

The Glavins are an indie rock four piece from Barnsley/Sheffield area, they have recently received the honour of being played by BBC Radio 6 music DJ, Steve Lamacq, on his show and are now set to play their first gig in London on 15th October at The Islington, so head down to that if you’re about.

The Glavins themselves credit their sound being heavily influenced by The Beatles due to the fact that the bassist, Joe Birkbeck spent some time in Liverpool while he was studying there and lead vocalist / acoustic guitarist, Carl Stott’s love for The Beatles. I think it’s easy to draw comparisons between The Glavins and Arctic Monkeys, with their strong melodies and infectious swagger, along with the mellowness in their tunes, they are definitely ones to watch out for. They are always gigging, so there’s plenty of chance to check them out at a gig sometime, check out the links below for a more up-to-date run down of where they are playing in the coming months and have a listen to one of their tracks below.
