We have put together a list of emerging up and coming talent, the following artists listed here have recently come to our attention. All of which deserve to be heard at full volume, so make sure you check them all out.
Broken Hands are a rock four-piece from Kent. Their music takes many different forms but purely at it’s heart, it is rock. They often take influence from psychedelica, which is evident in, At Least I Let You Down, which is a BIG track, you can hear influences of Tame Impala in there and The Black Keys, it’s a song that wouldn’t be out of place in a stadium. They are also very much an advocate of the fuzz pedal, which is always a winning component and with purposeful and strong vocals from Norton, they are unbreakable. Broken Hands come out loud and heavy, and with lots of fight, they are truly rock legends in the making, I see a very bright future ahead for these lads. A band that would compliment The Black Keys very well, but also that have that vibrancy to them of youth. They heading out on tour in September all over the UK, it’s more than worth checking them out, I’d say.
This electronic four-piece from London are taking over the music scene in the US right now, after building up a strong fanbase in the US, they are soaring. They have a sound that’s very much in demand right now, with fresh beats and organic synths, anthemic pop melodies and impossibly catchy lyrics, they have everything you could want in a band.
King No-One are a four-piece indie band from York. Who have not only just won the chance to play at Reading and Leeds Festivals this year, but they are also ones to watch. They have a very fresh sound, that just sails on your ears, they have a strong emphasis on the lyrical content of their songs, which is plain to see when you listen to them. The pace and composition of their songs echo that of The Maccabees and Young Kato, and with a distinctive sound that carries a little bit of The Kooks and Razorlight along with it, I think it’s safe to say, that King No-One are a band that we will be hearing a lot more about in the future.
Syd Arthur are a psychedelic and progressive rock four-piece from Canterbury, who are seriously amazing. They are not your regular band, they have bags of originality and they are truly good at what they do. They subvert the concept of traditional psychedelica with the addition of violin to their sound, which just takes it to a whole other level, they are true purveyors of undiluted musical goodness. They truly worship the musical heritage of their hometown and have impeccable taste and ability when it comes to producing music that really has lasting power, their music is seeped in meaning and love for their craft. They are so enchanting and it’s impossible not to fall in love them.
The Struts are a four-piece rock n roll band from Derby. They are HOT, with their dirty, explosive, heavy-hitting gusto and passionately intense vocals, The Struts are the band to hype about. With killer lyrics and fire in their bellies, they are going to go far. Currently tearing up the UK with their energetic live shows and at festivals, they are riding on a high right now. I can’t wait to see what’s next for these guys.
