If you’ve got a hankering for the kind of guitar-led indie pop/rock that was prevalent in the late ’90s/early ’00s, then you won’t go far wrong giving this a few plays.
Liverpool’s TV ME are currently riding the crest of a wave. Interest in the band has been ramped up by a debut national tour and the release of a well-received EP, A Broadcast from TV ME. Theirs is a well-defined aesthetic marrying smart songwriting with intriguing visuals that create a satisfying whole.
There’s a great episode of the much-missed sitcom Frasier where the good doctor encourages his listeners and family to make a leap into the unknown; to take a chance on something new. Inevitably the results are not quite what they all expect.
We’re still in the dark days of Winter but this could end up as one of those tracks that lights up the festival fields and tents of the Summer.
