Swansea rockers TRAMPOLENE continue to spin those creative cogs and storm the underground live scene. With an army of fans behind them, including long-time supporters The Libertines, the band easily can, and will, take on the world. The trio are consistent in their work ethic and ability to deliver fast and loud, potent thrills of garage rock but besides their high octane tendencies, they often throw out an acoustic powerhouse or two, and frontman Jack Jones has since become celebrated for his spoken word performances (and rightly so). New single ‘Divided Kingdom’ is filed under the former – sneering punch-to-the-gut rock’n’roll.
In the pissed-off paean to post-Brexit Britain, Jones sneers “I want something more than a tattoo or a cheap t-shirt from you”, whilst restless animosity rages around the lyrics sung, sharply-distorted riffs and fuzzed-up bass add fuel to the fire. TRAMPOLENE will be never afraid to step up and take on the opposition, if it means they’re standing up for what they believe in. Restriction is a state of mind. Freedom of self and speech in creativity is what we’re all entitled to. We should recognise this more.
‘Divided Kingdom’ is taken from ‘Pocket Album Five’, which is due out 25th November on Mi7 Records. Pre-order on iTunes here.
