Following on from the haunting power of last single ‘Dark & Stormy’, New York based songstress Micky Blue has released a new addictive gem entitled ‘Champagne Reign’, taken from her forthcoming ‘Wild Things’ EP.
Blue says that the track speaks about “how far some people are willing to go for glamour and fame. I think you can still reach your dreams without “selling your soul” or loosing yourself, it’s a much harder and longer road but I think the pay-off can be much greater” and in true form, Blue is sticking to her guns and staying true to herself.
Blue doesn’t write pop fodder for the masses. Her music is real. Her songs are human, sometimes broken and bruised, sometimes scarred and swollen. Her lyrics feed in from past knock-backs within the industry and she uses it as fuel to stoke her fire. If Blue continues on this path then we might just be looking at the next big pop sensation.
