For those of you that are familiar with electro pop band Strangers, most likely you will be already familiar with the irresistible vocal stylings of Lara Smiles, featuring on their track ‘Promises’. But if not, then Lara’s new AA-Side single, ‘Did You Ever’ / ‘Mind Off It’ will act as a good introduction to her bewildering world of sumptuous synth pop.
‘Did You Ever’ takes lead from the likes of electro pop princess, La Roux with a throbbing driving beat, swirling bass line and power vocal from Miss Smiles. ‘Did You Ever’ takes spacious atmospherics and synth led pop to the next level, it’s an awakening for the ears.
‘Mind Off It’ on the other hand is a riff laden, groove heavy indie pop tune that will have you singing “get what you need, don’t take your mind off it” in no time.
