Song of the Week

SONG OF THE WEEK: Zella Day – ‘Sweet Ophelia’

Arizona born, LA based pop beauty, Zella Day recently unveiled her début single, Sweet Ophelia, out 7th April, and what a stunning début it is. Her edgy sound coupled with crashing drum machine and kaleidoscopic electronics make it impossible for you not to get this song stuck in your head, her delicate yet powerful vocals will leave you haunted and craving for more.

Day just cements that pop music is not dead, and that there are some real gems out there if you just find them, and Sweet Ophelia, is the perfect example of this. Laden with catchy hooks, a sing-a-long chorus, and a strong yet sweet vocal that will haunt you from the very first listen. All laced with dream like melodies. Sweet Ophelia in it’s majesty and fragility both reels you in and pushes you away, Day definitely has a hit on her hands with this song, watch out for this young singer/songwriter things are just about to get exciting. After spending the last week playing to huge crowds at SXSW, I expect this will become a common sight for Miss Day soon enough.
