North Carolina’s Lost in the Trees are back and better than ever after unveiling the music video for their latest single, Past Life just last week. Past Life is taken from Lost in the Trees forthcoming album, Past Life, out 14th February in Australia and 18th February in the US, respectively via ANTI.
The new album and single spark a new beginning for the band, not just in terms of the music but in terms of the band’s line up also. Starting this new chapter as a four piece, and in doing so, have gained a newfound emphasis on groove and rhythm. The video takes us on a beautiful and unsettling journey of ghostly angels, a mysterious hooded man and a burning truck, all set amist a stark nightmare dreamscape. Directed by Dan Huiting and Andre Durand, whom have previously worked with Bon Iver, Local Natives, Destroyer and others. If you like Bastille’s music videos then be sure to check Lost in the Trees video out below, it’s stunning.
The track itself boasts a moody, melodious soundscape brimming with rich guitar lines, soaring and echoing vocals, cow bell and throbbing grooves. It’s a big track that deserves all the attention it’s going to get. Indie rock at it’s best.
