A Gameboy-esque intro tickles us into the new tune from indie funkers SAHARA.
Reminiscing the likes of FOALS (‘Total Life Forever’), SAHARA taunt and tease us with their sound. The lyrics delivered by frontman Laith Whitwham intrigue, and an oddly satisfying counter melody builds around his words adding further to the lure. But just when you expect the big chorus to come in, everything changes. All in all this proves to be great foreplay for the main event.
With a groovy, tight rhythm section capably delivered by Sam Cooper and Niall Kirkland, the lightness of Marko Marincic and Robert Webb’s intricate guitar melodies drifting seamlessly over the top, a combustible but dreamy soundscape is crafted – in one word, blissful. When the chorus comes in after the second verse, it’s a tantalising delight and doesn’t disappoint, this readies us for the big crescendo that leads an almighty climatic outro.
A delightful little number from the Brighton boys.
