Ambient lo-fi whispers gracefully paint Lowpines new single, ‘Call Off The Hunt’ as something of real beauty. The track explores the fallout after the end of a relationship, it’s about accepting that it’s over and moving on.
‘Call Off The Hunt’ is a serenade of heartbreak and melancholy. Hushed vocals and gentle instrumentation lay the pathway bare for quiet reflection and contemplation.
The track glistens with the fading embers and flickering sparks of the pair’s dwindling relationship, echoes of the past come flooding back of their former love but the time has come for them to move on, as Deakin laments“no sign of a seasfire so carry on”. ‘Call Off The Hunt’ is a bittersweet moment but with it’s warm textures and subtle melodic nous, it rises out of it’s darkness, just enough to break through the clouds.
